Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Yochanan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yochanan has chosen Know your Enemy as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Yochanan! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yochanan tries to close the distance and clinch but Santos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Santos throws a head kick but Yochanan moves out of range.
Yochanan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Santos pinned against the cage. Santos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. No luck for Yochanan with that takedown attempt. Yochanan fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jake Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Yochanan. Yochanan shoots in but no luck this time. Santos scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Yochanan misses with a takedown attempt and Santos counters with a nice body kick. Nice combination. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Yochanan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Santos stuffs the takedown attempt from Yochanan. Yochanan gets slowly back to his feet. Santos tries a head kick but it misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Santos throws a series of punches but Yochanan avoids them all with ease. Yochanan with a lazy takedown attempt and Santos counters with a nice leg kick. Yochanan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Santos looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Yochanan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Yochanan looks gassed! Santos pushes Yochanan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Yochanan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Santos is not content to let Yochanan control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Santos is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yochanan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Yochanan throws the left hand but Santos avoids the punch easily. Santos gets caught napping as Yochanan dives in and scores a takedown. Santos manages to retain guard. Yochanan is looking to work some ground and pound but Santos has wrist control. Yochanan trying to control the position from guard on top but Santos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yochanan stands and steps away. Santos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Yochanan fails with the takedown and Santos counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Yochanan is lucky that one didn't land flush. Yochanan is breathing heavily. Yochanan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Santos sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yochanan somewhat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Yochanan feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Santos's calf. Santos leaves Yochanan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Santos defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Yochanan. Yochanan with a lazy takedown attempt and Santos counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Yochanan throws the kick towards the body but Santos avoids it. Santos utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Santos is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Yochanan crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Santos - the referee stops the clock and Yochanan gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Santos. Yochanan manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Santos misses with a double jab.

Santos tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Yochanan is in Santos's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Yochanan prevents Santos from getting back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Jake Santos showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Santos, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
