PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ramzi MS (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lexton Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lexton Kent will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

MS closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kent quickly recovers to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

MS decides to stand up.
Kent misses with a takedown

and MS counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
MS looking to pass the guard.

Kent is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Kent is working an open guard so MS takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Kent moves into range and clinches up with MS.
MS tries to stall but Kent uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

MS tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kent just stands there and leans against the cage.

MS has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kent uses from the top position.
Kent has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of MS is proving hard to escape from.
Kent must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kent scores with a head kick. MS tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Kent doesn't succeed with the takedown

and MS decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kent's guard.
Kent tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kent not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kent looking to hit a scissor sweep but MS is one step ahead there.
MS throws a big right hand that misses.
MS is working Kent over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
MS seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
MS lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Ramzi MS overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
MS controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
MS has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ramzi MS just wasn't active enough.
Kent tries to clinch but MS moves out of range.

Kent moves into the clinch successfully.
MS tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kent smiles and moves away.
MS keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Kent feints and then cracks MS's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow MS down.
Kent lands a straight punch to the body, keeping MS at a distance.

MS gets to his feet. Kent looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Kent goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

MS fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kent checks it well.

MS throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Kent is sitting in close to MS's body. MS has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Kent is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Kent is tapping! That was a very nice submission by MS.
