Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rape Van!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tariq Hassan Hussain!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hussain misses with a straight right.
The fighters circling - Hussain throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Van wants to clinch.
Hussain circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hussain swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Van looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
It looks like Rape Van has been cut.
Van tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hussain manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Van displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hussain throws out the jab.
Van tries to clinch but Hussain moves out of range.
Hussain keeps the fight on the outside.
Van closes the distance and clinches.
Van prevents Hussain from breaking the clinch.
Hussain has had enough of the clinch but Van keeps him there for the moment.
Hussain looks gassed!
Van goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hussain prevents it.
Van is trying to drag Hussain to the mat but Hussain just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Van pushes Hussain off and gets back to his feet.
Hussain throws a hook to the side of Van's head but Van sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Van tries to clinch up but Hussain circles away and keeps his distance.

and Van holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Van is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hussain is defending well.

Van goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hussain prevents it.
Van drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Van pulls Hussain into guard.
Van pushes Hussain off and scrambles back to his feet.
Van tries to clinch but Hussain is having none of it.
Hussain throws a right hand that misses
and Van holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Van wants to take the fight to the mat but Hussain manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Hussain is trying to break the clinch but Van is controlling him.
Hussain wants to get back to striking at distance but Van won't allow it.

Van has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hussain after a bit of a struggle.
Hussain gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Van.
Van is working for takedown but Hussain is calmly controlling the position for now.
Van is looking to take this one to the mat.
Van goes for a takedown attempt but Hussain pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Hussain throws a looping overhand right but Van ducks down to avoid it.

Hussain waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Van.
Van shoots in looking for a takedown. Hussain tries to sprawl out of it but Van keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hussain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Van tries to clinch there but Hussain circles away.
Hussain rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Van counters by clinching up.
Hussain tries to circle away but Van has him pinned against the cage.
Hussain tries to break the clinch but Van is controlling the position.
Van can't get the takedown.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hussain wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Van has him pressed against the cage.

Van is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Van drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hussain pulls his leg out and moves away.

Van drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hussain gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Van is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hussain to keep the fight standing.
Hussain escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Van counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Van tries to close the distance and clinch but Hussain swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Van has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hussain is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Van is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hussain pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Hussain might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Hussain misses with an uppercut. Van saw that one coming.
Hussain stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hussain wants it to stay on the feet.
Van uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hussain.
Tariq Hassan Hussain is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hussain misses with a lunging right hand
and Van counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Van.
Hussain has had enough of the clinch but Van keeps him there for the moment.
Van can't get the takedown.
Hussain tries to circle away but Van has him pinned against the cage.
Van decides to pull guard.
Hussain wants to stand but Van has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hussain wants to stand and escape but instead Van has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Van is pushing down on Hussain's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hussain is fighting to maintain full guard but Van has managed to sneak the leg through.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Van maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Hussain could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Van has cracked it and Hussain is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Van!
