Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shinya Aioki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinichi Kobayashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aioki has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. The key to victory for Shinya Aioki has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinya Aioki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinichi Kobayashi!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kobayashi shoots in but no luck this time.

Kobayashi scores a takedown into full mount!
Aioki is breathing heavily.
Aioki wants to control but Kobayashi is having none of it.
Kobayashi landing strikes, looking to finish!

Kobayashi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Aioki can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Kobayashi tries to control but Aioki wriggling away.

Kobayashi stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Aioki gets caught napping as Kobayashi dives in and scores a takedown. Aioki manages to retain guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kobayashi drops back looking for a leg! Aioki is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Aioki manages to kick Kobayashi off! Kobayashi jumps back into Aioki's guard.

Kobayashi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kobayashi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kobayashi tries to free his leg and advance position but Aioki is retaining full guard.

Kobayashi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kobayashi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Kobayashi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Aioki knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Aioki is looking to regain half guard here but Kobayashi keeps moving and retains side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kobayashi trying to control the position but Aioki is working away.

Kobayashi is trying to get an arm triangle but Aioki is defending well.
Aioki struggling a bit here.

Kobayashi is working to tighten is grip on Aioki's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Aioki has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kobayashi is really squeezing tight and eventually Aioki passes out! Kobayashi breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Shinichi Kobayashi!
A less than humble Shinichi Kobayashi misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
