Alvarez's entrance music is Survivor - 'Burning Heart'. A fine choice. Saul Alvarez has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Saul Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dwight Yorke!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Yorke is defended easily by Alvarez.
Alvarez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Yorke has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Alvarez scores with a jab. Yorke acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Alvarez slaps away a takedown attempt from Yorke, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Yorke takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Dwight Yorke has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alvarez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alvarez wants it to stay on the feet.
Saul Alvarez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dwight Yorke.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Yorke.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Yorke is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Alvarez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Alvarez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Alvarez tries to get out of the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yorke is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Alvarez has escaped the position, nice work there.

Yorke has an Americana. Alvarez didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Yorke is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Yorke hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Dwight Yorke!
