Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frankie Russo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tim Price! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from Price. Russo misses with a wild body shot. Russo misses with a series of wild punches.
Russo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Nice straight punches there by Price. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Price. Price stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Price scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Russo doesn't seem bothered though. Russo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Price can pounce on him.
Price jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Russo takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Price cracks the inside of Russo's front leg. A jab from Price finds it's way through Russo's defenses. Price has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Price lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Russo circles away quickly and effectively. A swing and a miss from Price. Russo avoids the body shot from Price.
Price lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Russo swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Price counters with a nice body kick. Price just misses with a punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Price lands with a nice body punch. Price moves out of range as Russo strikes. Russo shoots in but Price avoids the takedown attempt easily. Russo takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Russo takes one to the chin there. A decent looking cross lands there for Price. Russo on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Price. Price obviously looking to wear him down.
Price defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Russo. Russo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Price thows a body kick. Russo tries to catch it but that hurt him. Price lands a leg kick that knocks Russo off balance momentarily. A combination from Russo does no damage. Russo tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Tim Price is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Price throws a body punch but Russo moves out of range. Russo throws a combination that misses and Price counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Price lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Price fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Price drives through and clinches with Russo against the cage.
Russo is trying to break the clinch but Price has him pressed against the cage. Price is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Price lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Price lands a good knee to the midsection. Russo won't want to take too many of those. Price lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Russo. Price tries to throw a body punch but Russo avoids it by throwing Price back against the cage. Price lands a knee to the head.
The referee is keeping an eye on Price - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Russo blocks a body shot from Price. Price gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Russo.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Price is pressed up against the cage. Russo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Price down to the mat. Price avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Good standup being displayed there by Price as he connects with a hook. Russo throws a right and a left that both miss. Russo shoots in for a double leg but Price sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Russo waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Price. Russo takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Russo takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Price lands a front kick. Russo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Price connects with an inside leg kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Russo misses with a combination
and Price cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Price scoring well with a low kick there.
Russo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tim Price dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Price swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Russo. Russo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Price sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Russo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Price can pounce on him.
A head kick misses from Price. Price bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Price scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Russo moves forwards but Price connects with a nice, crisp jab. Price with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Russo shoots for a double leg takedown but Price sprawls well. He's pushed Russo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Price tries to bum rush Russo with a series of wild strikes but Russo uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Russo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Russo is defended easily by Price. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frankie Russo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. No joy there for Price, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Russo is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Price ducks down and throws a hook to the body. No joy there for Russo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Price tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Price connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. A decent looking body kick lands there for Price. Price catches Russo with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Russo is rocked! Price feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Russo collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!

A very excited looking Tim Price made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
