Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brett Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson gets caught napping as Johnson dives in and scores a takedown. Jackson manages to retain guard.
Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jackson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jackson walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jackson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jackson wants it to stay on the feet.

Jackson is working for a kimura but Johnson is defending it quite comfortably.
Jackson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Jackson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jackson in particular looking to stall.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jackson uses his free foot to push down on Johnson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Johnson.

Johnson has his hands clasped together but Jackson extends an breaks Johnson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Jackson.
