Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fidel Jr Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Ribeiro!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Castro with that takedown attempt.
Castro looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ribeiro throws a series of punches but Castro avoids them all with ease.
Ribeiro misses with a body shot.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Castro.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fidel Jr Castro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Castro shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ribeiro as he avoids it easily.
Mike Ribeiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Castro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ribeiro tries to avoid it but Castro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ribeiro to the ground. Ribeiro escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ribeiro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Castro.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ribeiro throws a shot to the body.
Ribeiro cracks Castro with an uppercut from hell and Castro crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Ribeiro's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!


Castro is rocked!

Castro working for a triangle but Ribeiro defends it easily.
Oh Castro is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ribeiro is looking to stand up but Castro won't let him.
Castro seems to have got his legs back now.

Ribeiro stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Ribeiro will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ribeiro throws a series of strikes that have Castro backpedaling.
Castro shoots for a double leg takedown but Ribeiro sprawls well. He's pushed Castro's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Castro closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Castro is breathing heavily.
Ribeiro is trying to stand.
Castro wants to control but Ribeiro is keeping him busy.
Ribeiro tries to kick Castro off but Castro keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ribeiro kicks off Castro and gets to his feet.
Ribeiro throws a shot to the body.
Ribeiro throws out a loose jab but Castro uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ribeiro throws a nice looking combination but Castro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A combination from Ribeiro does no damage.
Castro takes a jab right on the kisser.
Ribeiro throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ribeiro throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ribeiro swinging wilding here.

Castro shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Castro was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Castro goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ribeiro turns into him and now he's in Castro's guard.
Ribeiro wants to get up but he can't break Castro's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Ribeiro stands and steps away. Castro gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Castro keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice takedown defense from Ribeiro. No joy for Castro on that attempt.
Ribeiro throws out a powerful jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A leg kick checked by Castro.
Castro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ribeiro's waist but Ribeiro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Castro off to one side.
Ribeiro tries to bum rush Castro with a series of wild strikes but Castro uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nice uppercut lands for Ribeiro. That snapped Castro's head back.
Ribeiro moves in close and cracks Castro with a massive right hand! Castro, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Ribeiro!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mike Ribeiro!
