PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nikolay Capriotti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Osko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Capriotti comes into the arena with Been Away Too Long - Soundgarden blaring out of the sound system. Osko is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Selling the Wind. Nikolay Capriotti has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Josh Osko!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Capriotti scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Jab, jab by Capriotti - just one landing.
Capriotti avoids a kick to the body.
Osko pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Osko slaps away a takedown attempt from Capriotti, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Osko throws a left and a right that both miss
and Capriotti counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Osko uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Capriotti.
Osko misses with a head kick.

Capriotti shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Capriotti wants to finish this one by submission but Osko is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Capriotti.

Capriotti moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Osko has worked his arm free - good work by Osko!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Capriotti looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Capriotti goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Osko has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Capriotti but great work by Osko.
Capriotti is working to avoid the ground and pound but Osko connects with a decent elbow.
Osko wants to control but Capriotti is keeping him busy.

Capriotti tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Capriotti gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Capriotti is desperately trying to improve his position but Osko has a good base and remains in mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee warns Capriotti that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Capriotti is trying to escape the mount.
Capriotti is bucking up trying to escape but Osko cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Capriotti is looking to improve his position but Osko isn't that keen on the idea.
Capriotti takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Oh Capriotti is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Osko lands a big shot to the head and Capriotti winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Josh Osko tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
