Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, El Luan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Danny Zamora! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zamora connects with a jab.
It looks like El Luan has been cut. Nice shot lands for Zamora. Zamora cracks Luan with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Zamora lands a leg kick that knocks Luan off balance momentarily. Zamora gets tackled into the cage by Luan. Luan maintains the clinch. Zamora lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Luan is trying to pull guard but Zamora turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Zamora lands with a short head shot on the inside. A nice right hand lands inside from Zamora. Zamora blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. A shot in the inside from Zamora. Luan jumps guard but Zamora stands there with Luan around his waist. Luan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Zamora scores with a hook to the body. A nice right hand lands inside from Zamora. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Zamora creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Zamora working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Luan jumps guard but Zamora turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for El Luan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zamora is leaning against Luan and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Luan is breathing heavily. Zamora lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Luan is rocked! A right hand to the body from Zamora.
Oh Luan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Zamora throws a big uppercut that drops Luan! More strikes from Zamora and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Luan lies dazed against the cage as Zamora celebrates with his cornermen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Danny Zamora! A less than humble Danny Zamora misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
