The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kulafu connects with the punch.
A solid leg kick lands there for Kulafu.
No luck for Watanebe with that takedown attempt.
Watanebe closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Kulafu displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Watanebe.
Kulafu lands a nice looking kick to the body. Watanebe takes a step back to recover.

Watanebe walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kulafu moves in looking to clinch but Watanebe pushes him off.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Watanebe. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Watanebe walks forward, straight into a front kick from Kulafu.

Watanebe takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Vino Kulafu hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Kulafu lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Whack! Kulafu lands a heavy head kick that drops Watanebe. The ref tackles Kulafu to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Watanebe was done.
