With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Purple Haired Shanks!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cordeiro throws a sloppy head kick and Shanks moves out of range easily.
Shanks takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Cordeiro lands with an overhand left.

It looks like Purple Haired Shanks has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shanks ducks under a wild hook from Cordeiro.
Shanks tries to land a front kick but Cordeiro steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Cordeiro thows a body shot but no joy.
Cordeiro throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Cordeiro turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Cordeiro lands a nice looking body kick.
Shanks looks winded!
Cordeiro takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Cordeiro lands a leg kick that knocks Shanks off balance momentarily.

Shanks throws a sloppy head kick and Cordeiro moves out of range easily.
Shanks takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

That has opened up Purple Haired Shanks's cut even more.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Shanks crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cordeiro - the referee stops the clock and Shanks gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cordeiro. Shanks manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Giovani Luiz Cordeiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crunch! Cordeiro slams his shin into Shanks's torso.
That kick from Cordeiro tenderised Shanks's leg. Shanks is trying to keep his angry face on.
Nice body kick from Cordeiro.
Cordeiro throws a front kick that sends Shanks stumbling back into the cage.
Cordeiro lands with a thumping leg kick.

Cordeiro lands a big head kick that sends Shanks tumbling to the mat! Cordeiro takes a step backwards and waves Shanks back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Shanks is rocked!

Shanks gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!
