Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Franco Konson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bertl Fisch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Franco Konson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bertl Fisch!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fisch drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Konson is trying to control the position but Fisch postures up.
Konson wants to get back to his feet but Fisch is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Konson being controlled here, momentarily.
Konson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Fisch.
Fisch would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Fisch stands up from guard. Let's bang!
A head kick by Konson misses

and Fisch counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Fisch gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Konson.
Konson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fisch just stands there and leans against the cage.

Fisch keeps control of Konson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Konson has had enough of the clinch but Fisch keeps him there for the moment.

Fisch drags the fight down to the ground.

Fisch is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bertl Fisch.

Konson gets tackled into the cage by Fisch. Fisch maintains the clinch.
Konson looking to throw knees to the head but Fisch is blocking nicely.

Fisch has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Konson uses from the top position.
Konson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Konson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Konson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Konson wants to control from the top but Fisch keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fisch throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Konson stays in close to Fisch's body and controls the position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Fisch is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Konson won't allow Fisch to pass to mount.
Fisch thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Konson's head.

Fisch is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Konson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Fisch trying to control from half guard but Konson is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fisch is taking a breather. Konson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Konson scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Fisch manages to mount him!

Fisch content just to control the position here.
Konson throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Fisch swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Konson is now in Fisch's guard. A big mistake from Fisch there, giving up the dominant position!

Konson gets to his feet. Fisch looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Konson closes the distance but Fisch moves to the side
and Fisch counters with a one-two to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bertl Fisch dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Konson wants to clinch.

Fisch gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Konson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Fisch manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Fisch looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Konson trying to control but Fisch is working from the bottom.

Fisch is working an open guard so Konson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Konson tries a head kick but it misses.
Konson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Fisch closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Konson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Fisch is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Fisch seems to be working for a kimura but Konson defends the submission attempt.
Fisch is pressing down on Konson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Konson is holding on for now.

Konson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Fisch thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Konson's head.
Konson tries to kick Fisch off but Fisch keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Fisch tries to pass the half guard into mount. Konson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Fisch moves nicely into side control.

Fisch thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Konson is trying to escape the position but Fisch is controlling the position.

Fisch decides to stand back up.
Konson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Fisch swats away the attempt to clinch by Konson.

Fisch closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Konson did well to prevent Fisch getting side control.
Fisch is breathing heavily.

Fisch throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Fisch is trying to control. Konson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Konson is trying to escape back to his feet but Fisch uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Konson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Fisch has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Fisch wants to lay and pray for a moment but Konson keeps working.
Fisch prevents Konson from escaping the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fisch has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bertl Fisch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Fisch drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Fisch looking to sit in guard and control but Konson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Konson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Fisch has his foot on Konson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Konson works his way back into a safe position though.

Fisch working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Konson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Konson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fisch takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Konson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fisch is proving hard to escape from.

Konson tries to free his leg and advance position but Fisch is retaining full guard.
Franco Konson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Fisch pulls Konson in close to prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bertl Fisch was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Fisch closes the distance and clinches.

Fisch has Konson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Fisch pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Konson tumbling to the mat - Fisch dives into Konson's guard.

Konson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Fisch stacks Konson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Fisch!

Konson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Fisch asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Fisch fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Konson regains half guard, as Fisch was trying to land strikes.

Fisch is looking to advance position but Konson won't allow it.

Well, if Fisch is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Fisch is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Konson sees it coming and defends easily.
Bertl Fisch is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bertl Fisch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fisch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
