17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, John Kyle Romo! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romo lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Romo scores with a spinning back kick! Romo misses with a hook. Saunders ducked under it nicely. Saunders really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Romo looks to land a right hand but Saunders moved out of range. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Saunders walks away with a smile on his face. Romo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. John Kyle Romo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Saunders fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Romo ducks right into an uppercut from Saunders. Saunders takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Saunders fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Romo is out of range. Romo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Saunders. Saunders clinches with his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Saunders pushes off an throws an elbow but Romo leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Knees in the clinch landing for Saunders.

It looks like John Kyle Romo has been cut. Romo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Saunders to keep the fight standing. John Saunders has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Kyle Romo. Romo is trying to maintain a safe position but Saunders gets an underhook and turns Romo into the cage. Romo is pushing Saunders up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Romo fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Saunders creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Romo's defenses. Romo tries to throw a body punch but Saunders avoids it by throwing Romo back against the cage. Romo avoids a wild elbow strike from Saunders. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Romo using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Saunders has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Saunders swings wildly with an uppercut but Romo uses good head movement to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but John Kyle Romo will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on John Kyle Romo's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Saunders cracks Romo with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Romo falls to his knees and Saunders doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
