1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yasser Arafat! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Heaney tries for a takedown but Arafat sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A jab from Arafat misses. Arafat throws a body punch but Heaney moves out of range. Aidan Heaney seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Heaney fails in his attempt to clinch. Arafat keeps the fight on the outside. Heaney shoots in looking for a takedown. Arafat tries to sprawl out of it but Heaney keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Arafat manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Arafat throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Heaney shoots in looking for a takedown but Arafat manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Heaney's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Heaney shoots for a double leg takedown but Arafat sprawls well. He's pushed Heaney's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Arafat works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Arafat throws a shot from downtown. Heaney moves away and avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Heaney shoots in and drives through. Arafat sprawls well. The fighters circling - Arafat throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Heaney takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Arafat looks to land a right hand but Heaney moved out of range. Good exchange - Arafat coming out on top. Arafat swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Arafat doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Arafat manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Heaney is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Heaney is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Heaney is looking to stand up but Arafat isn't so interested in that idea. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Heaney takes a body punch but keeps moving. Arafat misses with a two punch combination.
