Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Todd Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stix Cornwell!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson closes the distance and clinches up with Cornwell, looking for a takedown. Nelson pushes Cornwell against the cage but Cornwell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Cornwell gets the takedown into side control.
Cornwell wants to control but Nelson is keeping him busy.
Nelson wants to get back to his feet.

Cornwell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Cornwell looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Nelson is avoiding damage well.
Cornwell tries to advance to mount but Nelson denies him.
Cornwell scores with a couple of short elbows.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nelson manages to get back to half guard.
Cornwell passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Nelson!
Nelson wants to try and get back to his feet.
Cornwell tries to control but Nelson wriggling away.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Cornwell has eaten all the pies!
Cornwell unloads with some shots from mount but Nelson bucks and avoids them well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Cornwell goes for an armbar but Nelson turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Nelson.
Nelson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cornwell's guard.
Cornwell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nelson's guard.
Nelson can't keep his opponent in guard - Cornwell advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Cornwell is nestled in close to Nelson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cornwell trying to pass the guard but Nelson defending well.
Nelson is trying to stand up here but Cornwell is controlling him well.
Nelson is breathing heavily.

Cornwell is looking for a kimura but Nelson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cornwell to get the leverage.

Cornwell has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Nelson defend it? Cornwell steps over the head and cranks it - Nelson is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Cornwell!
