And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dante Vredenburg!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vredenburg misses with a double jab.
Oppelaar dives in and grabs Vredenburg's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vredenburg pushes down on Oppelaar's head and hops out.
Oppelaar fails to land the takedown.

Oppelaar closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Vredenburg did well to prevent Oppelaar getting side control.
Vredenburg makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vredenburg.
Oppelaar wants to control from the top but Vredenburg keeps moving.
Vredenburg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oppelaar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Oppelaar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Vredenburg wants to stand and escape but Oppelaar is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vredenburg throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Vredenburg scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Oppelaar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vredenburg's guard.
Oppelaar wants to control from the top but Vredenburg keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oppelaar is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Vredenburg is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Vredenburg wants to stand but Oppelaar is controlling the position.
Oppelaar slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Oppelaar passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Oppelaar is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vredenburg is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Oppelaar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Oppelaar goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Vredenburg rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Oppelaar's guard! Nice work there by Vredenburg!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Vredenburg trying to control the position from guard on top but Oppelaar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vredenburg wants to get up but he can't break Oppelaar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Oppelaar looking for a guillotine here but Vredenburg defends easily.

Oppelaar is looking to sinch up a triangle. Vredenburg throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Oppelaar's body to avoid the submission. Oppelaar has instead reached around Vredenburg's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Oppelaar arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
