Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Gatza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buck Laow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Buck Laow!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laow throws a head kick that misses.
Gatza shoots in but Laow avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Laow keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Laow misses with a takedown attempt - Gatza sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Laow moves in looking to clinch but Gatza pushes him off.
Gatza will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Laow shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Laow cracks Gatza with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Laow's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gatza throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Laow.
Gatza will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gatza is breathing heavily.
Laow blocks a head kick by Gatza.
Laow lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gatza's sensitive parts.
Laow looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gatza is fending him off so far but Laow persists. Nope, Gatza circles away and we're back to standing.

Gatza needs to keep his hands up - Laow had a free shot at his head there.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Laow manages to break the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gatza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Laow sprawls well. Laow wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gatza gets slowly back to his feet.

Gatza tries to pull guard but Laow holds him up against the cage and eventually Gatza drops back down to his feet.

Laow stuffs the takedown attempt from Gatza. Gatza gets slowly back to his feet.
Laow is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gatza sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Gatza fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Laow avoids it really well and circles away.
Laow lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Laow dives in and grabs Gatza's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gatza pushes down on Laow's head and hops out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buck Laow dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Laow decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gatza, up you get!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Laow.
Gatza really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Laow is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Gatza fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Laow rushes Gatza and presses him up against the cage.

Laow decides to pull guard.
Gatza has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Gatza looking to sit in guard and control but Laow gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Laow postures up in Gatza's guard and throws a big left but Gatza blocks it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gatza wants to sweep here but Laow controlling him for the moment.
Laow has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Laow works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Laow frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Laow is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gatza has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Laow looking to secure an arm triangle but Gatza defends it well.
Laow takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Laow looking to ground and pound but Gatza is blocking nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Poor strikes thrown by Laow there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Buck Laow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gatza enables Laow to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gatza manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Gatza fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Laow closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

You can see the frustration on Gatza's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gatza avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Laow.

Buck Laow comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Laow has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
