Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hougar Christenssen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hougar Christenssen! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendez moves out of range of the strikes. Mendez closes the distance and clinches. Christenssen is trying to break free. Mendez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Christenssen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Mendez tries for a takedown. No joy.
Christenssen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Christenssen throws a half hearted mid kick. Mendez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mendez missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Mendez throwing shots but Christenssen is blocking nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mendez thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Christenssen to regain full guard. Christenssen pushes Mendez off and gets back to his feet.
Mendez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Christenssen wants to get back to his feet. Christenssen taking punishment in the form of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Christenssen wants to control but Mendez postures up. Mendez misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Mendez throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Mendez lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Christenssen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mendez off and has taken his back! Christenssen doesn't have the hooks in and Mendez manages to turn into his guard.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Christenssen wants to hold on but Mendez pushes him away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Mendez lands with a punch from half guard. Tony Mendez dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Mendez postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Mendez advances position into side control! Mendez misses with the ground and pound. Mendez cracks Christenssen with an elbow. That is naaassty. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Christenssen takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Tony Mendez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mendez advances to mount. Mendez dominating with strikes here. Christenssen is in a horrible position here. Mendez smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Mendez breaks from Christenssen's wrist control and lands an elbow. Christenssen is still in real trouble! Can Mendez finish him?
It looks like Hougar Christenssen has been cut. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mendez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Mendez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Christenssen can do to turn this around? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mendez connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Christenssen throws the left hand but Mendez avoids the punch easily. Mendez swings for the body but Christenssen moves out of range.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. And that's the end of the fight! Tony Mendez showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mendez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
