The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borner scores with a takedown into Thomas Brow's guard.
Borner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Thomas Brow stops Borner from getting back to his feet.
Borner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thomas Brow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Thomas Brow slips a nice elbow through Borner's hands, connecting with Borner's forehead.

Thomas Brow uses his free foot to push down on Borner's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Borner.

Thomas Brow lands a big shot there that rocks Borner but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
It looks like VelazQuez Borner has been cut.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Borner looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Thomas Brow! Submission of the night perhaps?
