PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Colt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perez is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by whatever. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Colt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Perez!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Colt tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Some wild striking there from Perez.

and Colt counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Perez's guard now.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Colt displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Perez throws out the jab.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Colt enables Perez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Colt manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Perez is fighting to break Colt's control of his arms but Colt is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Perez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Perez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Colt manages to avoid it.
Perez dives in and grabs Colt's left leg, looking for a takedown. Colt pushes down on Perez's head and hops out.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Colt looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Perez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Perez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Horrible takedown by Perez or perhaps it was just good defense by Colt which made him look bad.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jackson Colt.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Colt, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
