PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Czarek Marnota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Corpus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marnota comes to the cage accompanied by Zawsze Jak Król. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Corpus stalls.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Corpus.
Corpus prevents a takedown attempt there.

Marnota has hold of one of Corpus's legs. Corpus is fighting the takedown attempt but Marnota gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Corpus wants to stand and escape but Marnota is having none of it.

Marnota drops back looking for a leg! Corpus is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Corpus manages to kick Marnota off! Marnota jumps back into Corpus's guard.
Marnota will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Marnota is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Corpus wants to get back to his feet but Marnota is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Marnota drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marnota jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Marnota drops back, looking for a kneebar! Corpus looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Corpus looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Corpus!

Marnota gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Corpus is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
It looks like Corpus is going to stand back up.

Corpus takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Corpus moves in looking to clinch but Marnota pushes him off.

It looks like Czarek Marnota has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

John Corpus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Czarek Marnota seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Corpus lands a right hand that snaps the head of Marnota backwards.

Corpus makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Czarek Marnota's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Still in the clinch, Corpus scores with a nice short uppercut.

Corpus drops Marnota with a straight right hand, right on the button! Corpus follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
