Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Callahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Knapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Callahan comes to the cage accompanied by Everybody Wants To Rule The World. Knapp has chosen Chevelle - The Red as his entrance music. Thomas Callahan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thomas Callahan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Knapp! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Callahan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Knapp swivels and escapes. Knapp throws a nice looking combination but Callahan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Knapp looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Callahan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Callahan uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Knapp. Knapp swings away with a body shot that misses
and Callahan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Callahan prevents Knapp from improving his position. Knapp is trying to control but can't.
Knapp is looking for a sweep. Callahan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Knapp is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Knapp is looking to improve his position.
Callahan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knapp keeps control of the position for the meantime. Callahan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Knapp with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. We're going to have a standup here because Thomas Callahan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Callahan closes the distance and clinches. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Callahan drops down looking for an ankle pick but Knapp pulls his leg out and moves away.
Peter Knapp is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Knapp throws a series of punches but Callahan avoids them all with ease. Callahan darts in and clinches Knapp up against the cage. Callahan is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Callahan will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Knapp up against the cage. Knapp lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Knapp misses with a punch on the inside.
Callahan tries to circle away but Knapp has him pinned against the cage. Knapp is pressed up against the cage. Callahan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Knapp down to the mat. Knapp avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Callahan moves into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Knapp swings wildly with an uppercut but Callahan uses good head movement to avoid it. Knapp tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Knapp lands with a short head shot on the inside. Callahan is stalling here.
Callahan is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Knapp to keep the fight standing. Callahan cracks Knapp with a nice body shot. This has been an exciting period of action! A short right from Callahan.
It looks like Peter Knapp has been cut.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Callahan jumps guard and drags Knapp to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Knapp stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Callahan swivels though and keeps the full guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Knapp controlling from the top position. Knapp gets to his feet - Callahan follows without any prompting. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Thomas Callahan will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Peter Knapp's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Callahan lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Peter Knapp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck with that takedown attempt from Callahan. Callahan slips a straight right by Knapp. Knapp tests Callahan's chin there with a solid looking shot. Callahan has a takedown stuffed. No luck with that takedown attempt from Callahan. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Callahan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Knapp throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is keeping an eye on Callahan - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Peter Knapp seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Knapp lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Callahan backwards. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Knapp throws a head punch that misses. Knapp swings wildly with an uppercut but Callahan uses good head movement to avoid it. Knapp throws a head punch that misses. Callahan has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Knapp after a bit of a struggle. Knapp blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Knapp trying to control but Callahan is working from the bottom. Knapp slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peter Knapp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Peter Knapp's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Callahan shoots in but Knapp avoids the takedown attempt easily. Callahan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Knapp moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Knapp cracks Callahan with an open hand slap. Nice takedown defense from Knapp. No joy for Callahan on that attempt. Callahan has taken the fight to the clinch.

Callahan pulls guard effortlessly. Knapp trying to control the position from guard on top but Callahan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Knapp must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Callahan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Thomas Callahan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Knapp seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Peter Knapp hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Knapp throws a poor cross that misses
and Callahan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Callahan staying out of range there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Callahan cracks Knapp with a right hand to the side of the head. Callahan with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Knapp to score with a decent uppercut. Knapp swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Callahan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Knapp momentarily.
Knapp takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Knapp misses with an uppercut. Callahan saw that one coming. Horrible takedown by Callahan or perhaps it was just good defense by Knapp which made him look bad. Knapp buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Callahan rushes Knapp and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Callahan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Callahan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Knapp, pushing him back against the cage. Callahan blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Callahan tries to work over Knapp's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A head punch blocked on the inside by Callahan. Callahan is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Knapp gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Knapp lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Callahan backwards. Callahan is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Callahan goes for a takedown in the clinch but Knapp prevents it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Knapp lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Callahan is trying to stall.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Peter Knapp. Well Knapp has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
