PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Deke Dickleson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eduardo Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Deke Dickleson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Da Silva!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva has his takedown stuffed

and Dickleson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Dickleson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dickleson has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.

Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dickleson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dickleson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Dickleson wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position.

Dickleson tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
Dickleson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Silva's guard.
Dickleson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Dickleson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Silva is looking for a triangle but Dickleson pushes his legs off easily.
Dickleson is stalling in the full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dickleson is in close to Silva's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dickleson defends it easily.

Dickleson won't allow Silva to sweep him here.
Dickleson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Dickleson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Dickleson drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Dickleson off! Dickleson jumps back into Silva's guard.

Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dickleson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dickleson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Deke Dickleson will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Silva gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dickleson to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Dickleson throws a big elbow that misses.

Silva looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Dickleson is defending well. Silva quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Dickleson has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Silva celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Eduardo Da Silva!
