And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xavier Scott!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott closes this distance looking for a takedown but Favano circles away.
Scott fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Scott moves into the clinch successfully.
Favano scores with a hook to the body.
Scott is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Scott looking to slow down the pace here.
Scott goes for a takedown attempt but Favano pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Nick Favano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xavier Scott.
Scott looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Favano is fending him off so far but Scott persists. Nope, Favano circles away and we're back to standing.
Favano throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Scott uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Favano.

Scott closes the distance and clinches up with Favano, looking for a takedown. Scott pushes Favano against the cage but Favano circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Scott shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Favano as he jumps to the side.
Scott fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Scott shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Favano but Favano pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Scott shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Favano as he avoids it easily.
Scott looks gassed!
Favano punishes Scott's body with a nice straight punch.
Nick Favano is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Scott looks to clinch
and Favano counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Favano scores with the left hand. Scott knows he should have avoided that one.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Scott misses with a takedown attempt - Favano sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Favano misses with the combination.
Favano tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scott paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Favano throws a nice looking combination but Scott bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Favano will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Favano lands a jab.
Favano fails to land with a series of punches.
Scott shoots in looking for a takedown. Favano tries to sprawl out of it but Scott keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Favano manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Scott is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Favano.

Favano looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Favano lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Scott at a distance.
Sloppy strikes from Favano. Those never looked like landing.
Favano tries to clinch up

and Scott counters with a shoot takedown. Favano fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Scott tries to free his leg and advance position but Favano is retaining full guard.
Favano wants to sweep here but Scott controlling him for the moment.

Scott gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Scott tries to clinch
and Favano counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Scott uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Favano.
Donk. Favano catches Scott right on the button with a cross.
The fight stays on the outside here - Favano looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Favano connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Scott throws a wild hook but Favano just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Scott gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Favano raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick Favano!
After the fight, Nick Favano was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
