Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Sakamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Shewmaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sakamoto might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to imdabes by GMCFOSHO. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Sakamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Shewmaker!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shewmaker tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sakamoto manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Shewmaker takes one on the button.
Shewmaker fails with an attempt to clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Sakamoto breaks the clinch.
Shewmaker shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sakamoto sprawls well. Sakamoto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shewmaker gets slowly back to his feet.
Sakamoto connects with a body shot that sends Shewmaker's belly button to the back.
Paul Sakamoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shewmaker closes the distance and clinches up with Sakamoto, looking for a takedown. Shewmaker pushes Sakamoto against the cage but Sakamoto circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sakamoto cracks Shewmaker with a good jab.
Sakamoto throws a hook but Shewmaker avoids it easily.
Sakamoto lands an overhand right.
A big left from Sakamoto misses.

Shewmaker wants to clinch.
Sakamoto throws the left hand but Shewmaker avoids the punch easily.
Paul Sakamoto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shewmaker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nice sprawl there from Sakamoto as Shewmaker shoots in.
Paul Sakamoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Shewmaker.

Shewmaker seems to have recovered his senses.

Sakamoto lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Sakamoto misses with a punch to the body.
Sakamoto cracks Shewmaker with a nice body shot.
Shewmaker throws a knee to the head but misses.
Sakamoto throws a head punch that misses.
Shewmaker tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sakamoto just stands there and leans against the cage.
Shewmaker swings wildly with an uppercut but Sakamoto uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shewmaker manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sakamoto.

Sakamoto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Shewmaker tries for a takedown but Sakamoto sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shewmaker showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sakamoto.
Sakamoto misses with a body shot

and Shewmaker counters with a shoot takedown. Sakamoto fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Sakamoto wants to stand but Shewmaker is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sakamoto has his feet on Shewmaker's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Sakamoto fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sakamoto just misses with a punch to the body.
Sakamoto looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Sakamoto rushes Shewmaker and presses him up against the cage.
Shewmaker looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Shewmaker has Sakamoto pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sakamoto manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Shewmaker tries to pull guard but Sakamoto forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Shewmaker.
Sakamoto lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Shewmaker jumps guard but Sakamoto stands there with Shewmaker around his waist. Shewmaker gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Sakamoto swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Shewmaker fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Shewmaker is pushing Sakamoto up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Still in the clinch, Sakamoto scores with a nice short uppercut.
Sakamoto is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Shewmaker jumps guard but Sakamoto turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sakamoto lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Shewmaker tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sakamoto just stands there and leans against the cage.
Sakamoto is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Sakamoto dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Frank Shewmaker's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Sakamoto fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Paul Sakamoto is winning the standup battle so far.
Sakamoto lands with a straight right. Shewmaker didn't see that one coming.
Shewmaker fails in his attempt to clinch.
Shewmaker wants to clinch up but Sakamoto keeps it at a distance.
Sakamoto lands a jab to Shewmaker's midsection.

Sakamoto throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Shewmaker tumbling to the canvas!
Sakamoto knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shewmaker on the ground.

Sakamoto misses with a series of wild punches.

Shewmaker closes the distance and clinches up with Sakamoto, looking for a takedown. Shewmaker pushes Sakamoto against the cage but Sakamoto circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sakamoto lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Shewmaker tries to clinch but Sakamoto moves out of range.
Sakamoto fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Shewmaker square on the jaw! Damn, Shewmaker is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Paul Sakamoto!
Post fight, Paul Sakamoto took to the microphone: '"The Professor" Evanildo Bechara ducked a fight with me, too good for a rematch? What is he a Professor of? Dodging fights? I'll be the guy with his finger in da air after I knock you out.'.
