Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Myles Roderick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnovan Milliner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Myles Roderick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donnovan Milliner!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Milliner or perhaps it was just good defense by Roderick which made him look bad.
Roderick is looking to clinch.
Milliner shoots in looking for a takedown. Roderick tries to sprawl out of it but Milliner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Roderick manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Milliner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Roderick pinned against the cage. Roderick gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Myles Roderick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnovan Milliner.

Roderick is pressed up against the cage. Milliner has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Roderick down to the mat. Roderick avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Roderick feints and as Milliner raises his hands in defense, Roderick changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Roderick throws a strike but Milliner rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Milliner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Roderick has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Milliner is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Roderick is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Roderick has escaped and now he's on top!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Milliner can do anything to dispel that myth.

Milliner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Roderick defends well.

Roderick throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Milliner works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Milliner manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Roderick manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Milliner postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Milliner tries to free his leg and advance position but Roderick is retaining full guard.

Roderick could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Milliner drops back looking for a leg! Roderick is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Roderick manages to kick Milliner off! Milliner jumps back into Roderick's guard.

Roderick might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Milliner is in close to Roderick's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Milliner drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Milliner jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Roderick manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Milliner manages to get himself to full guard.

Milliner has an active guard here but Roderick has managed to pass into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Myles Roderick will probably get the nod.

Roderick is thwarting Milliner's attempts to control the position.
Roderick takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Roderick drops an elbow to the side of Milliner's head.
Milliner works his way to full guard. Good work.

Milliner is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Roderick looking to sit in guard and control but Milliner gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Roderick is looking for a triangle but Milliner pushes his legs off easily.

Milliner drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Roderick manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Milliner has Roderick in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Milliner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Roderick can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Milliner is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Roderick rolls with it to try and escape but Milliner cranks on the arm and Roderick is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Donnovan Milliner bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
