PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jamir Inumerable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Inumerable kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Wishmaster-nightwish. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jamir Inumerable!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Inumerable dives in and scores a takedown into Diaz's guard.
Inumerable trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Diaz wants to sweep here but Inumerable controlling him for the moment.
Inumerable sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Diaz working for a triangle but Inumerable defends it easily.
Inumerable knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground.
Diaz looks gassed!
Inumerable is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Jamir Inumerable has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Inumerable looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Diaz!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Diaz defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Inumerable.

Diaz tries to hold on but Inumerable pushes him away.

Diaz wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Inumerable tightening his grip on Diaz, looking for the choke.
Inumerable throwing wild punches that miss their target.
I would not like to be Diaz right now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Horrible takedown by Diaz or perhaps it was just good defense by Inumerable which made him look bad.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Diaz enables Inumerable to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Diaz manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Diaz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Inumerable can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Inumerable decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Inumerable closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Inumerable lands in his opponent's guard.
Diaz is breathing heavily.
Inumerable throwing strikes but missing.

Inumerable stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Inumerable has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Inumerable is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Inumerable gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Diaz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Inumerable thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Diaz tries to hold on but Inumerable pushes him away.
Inumerable content just to control the position here.
Inumerable throwing strikes here but Diaz is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Inumerable has control of Diaz's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Diaz regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Inumerable with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Inumerable trying to control but he's not successful this time.
A nice elbow there by Inumerable.
Inumerable misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Inumerable is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Diaz has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Inumerable controlling the position easily from mount.

Inumerable has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Diaz throwing hammer fists to the chest of Inumerable. What's that going to do exactly?

Inumerable get's back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jamir Inumerable dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Inumerable shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Diaz napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Inumerable is trying to get an arm triangle but Diaz is defending well.
Inumerable is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Diaz can do to turn this around?
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Inumerable throws an elbow but Diaz slips to the side and avoids it well.

Inumerable stands up and beckons Diaz to his feet.
Diaz misses with a combination

and Inumerable counters by clinching up.
Inumerable avoiding damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Inumerable ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Inumerable no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Diaz is fighting to break Inumerable's control of his arms but Inumerable is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Inumerable swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Inumerable looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Inumerable wants to get back to his feet but Diaz passes into half guard.
Jamir Inumerable overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Inumerable wants to control the action here but instead Diaz manages to pass to full mount!
Diaz throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Inumerable bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Diaz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Diaz keeping moving, preventing Inumerable from controlling successfully.
Inumerable throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Diaz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Inumerable slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Diaz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Diaz will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Inumerable not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Inumerable postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jamir Inumerable just wasn't active enough.

Inumerable closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Diaz to the mat! Diaz manages to get full guard.

Diaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Inumerable gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Diaz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
