PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Castle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Potter comes to the cage accompanied by All you need is love. Castle has chosen In Time as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harry Potter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Castle!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Potter blocks the leg kick.

Castle rushes Potter and presses him up against the cage.
Castle using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Potter has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Potter misses with the head strike.
Castle blocks an uppercut.
Castle with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Potter tries to work over Castle's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Potter blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Castle goes for a takedown attempt but Potter pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A chopping leg kick lands by Castle.
Castle fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Castle cracks Potter with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Castle uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Potter.
Castle throws a leg kick
and Potter counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Castle smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Castle fails with an attempt to clinch.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Castle lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Potter has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Potter and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Castle takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Potter moves into range and connects with a jab.
Castle needs to keep his hands up - Potter had a free shot at his head there.

Castle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Potter has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Potter lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Castle!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Castle is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Harry Potter wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Castle thumps Potter with a low kick.
Castle fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Potter avoids it really well and circles away.
Harry Potter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Castle.
Castle fails with the takedown.
Potter misses with a hook. Castle ducked under it nicely.
Castle has his takedown stuffed
and Potter counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Potter scores with a crisp jab that stopped Castle in his tracks.
Castle uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Potter.
Potter thows a body shot but no joy.

Potter takes a swing at Castle's ribcage but misses.
Castle throws a leg kick but Potter sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Castle takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Castle chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Castle throws a solid leg kick but Potter takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Castle.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Potter circles away from the clinch attempt.
Castle closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Potter takes a swing at Castle's ribcage but misses.
Castle swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Potter doesn't manage to clinch there - Castle circles away.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Potter looks to score with a jab to the body but Castle is just out of range.

Harry Potter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Castle throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Castle lands a nice looking kick to the body. Potter takes a step back to recover.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Harry Potter will probably get the nod.

Potter moves out of range as Castle strikes.

Harry Potter is winning the standup battle so far.

Castle bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Castle throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Castle walks into a jab.
Castle looks for a takedown but Potter sprawls well.

Castle moves into the clinch.
Potter blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Castle lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Potter backwards.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Castle takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Castle.

Castle works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Potter manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Castle is in all sorts of trouble here.
Potter content just to control the position here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Harry Potter has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Potter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Castle circles away quickly and effectively.

Castle catches Potter with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Castle tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Potter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Castle manages to avoid it.

Potter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Castle throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Potter sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Potter paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Castle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Potter scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Castle pivots, looking for a leg kick but Potter is out of range and Castle settles back down.
Castle looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Potter is fending him off so far but Castle persists. Nope, Potter circles away and we're back to standing.
Harry Potter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Castle.
Potter tests Castle's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Potter lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Potter misses with a jab, cross combination.
Castle shoots in and drives through. Potter sprawls well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Castle walks into a straight right hand from Potter.

Potter gets a clinch.
Castle lands a knee to the head.
Castle is trying to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Harry Potter will probably get the nod.
That's time! Potter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Potter scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Potter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Castle manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Potter throws a good cross that connects.
Castle feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Potter's calf.
Castle is looking to chop away at Potter's legs.
Castle looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Potter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Castle moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Castle misses with a low kick.
Potter getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Harry Potter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Castle trying to control the position but instead, Potter has worked for underhooks and has pushed Castle into the cage.
Potter is looking to break free of the clinch but Castle has double underhooks.

Potter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Potter scores with a jab to the body.
Castle misses with a low kick.
Potter connects with a looping right hand.
Potter scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Castle throws a half hearted mid kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Castle misses the target.
Potter lands a right hook to the body.
Castle will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Potter is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

The crowd cheers as Potter lands an impressive looking overhand right. Castle doesn't seem phased though.
Potter lands a nice hook to Castle's body. Castle takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Harry Potter showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Potter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
