The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villanueva takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Good work by Villanueva as he checks the leg kick.
Rio thumps Villanueva with a low kick.
Villanueva moves into the clinch.
Rio tries to work over Villanueva's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Villanueva pulls guard successfully.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Rio drops back looking for a leg! Villanueva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Villanueva manages to kick Rio off! Rio jumps back into Villanueva's guard.
Rio is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Villanueva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rio prevents Villanueva from getting back to his feet.

Villanueva wants to control but Rio passes easily into half guard.
Rio maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Villanueva could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Rio has cracked it and Villanueva is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Rio!
