Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tye Pearce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tye Pearce will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Aldo or perhaps it was just good defense by Pearce which made him look bad.
Pearce tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Aldo swivels and escapes.
Pearce slaps away a takedown attempt from Aldo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Aldo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pearce tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Aldo is in Pearce's guard.
Aldo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pearce, up you get!
Pearce has a takedown stuffed.
Aldo shoots in for a takedown but Pearce shows good takedown defense.

Aldo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pearce looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Aldo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pearce's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Aldo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Aldo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Pearce has eaten all the pies!

Aldo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pearce, up you get!
Aldo feints and as Pearce raises his hands in defense, Aldo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Aldo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pearce swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Aldo's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Aldo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pearce for as long as he can get away with.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Jose Aldo has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Aldo throws a sloppy head kick and Pearce moves out of range easily.

Pearce tries to clinch but Aldo is having none of it.
Pearce throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Aldo.
Aldo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pearce pinned against the cage. Pearce gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Aldo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Pearce can't fight it off and eventually Aldo manages to take the fight to the floor. Pearce looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Pearce gets caught napping as Aldo dives in and scores a takedown. Pearce manages to retain guard.

Aldo has Pearce pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pearce manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Aldo is looking to clinch but Pearce is avoiding it.
Aldo moves out of range of the body kick from Pearce.
Pearce forces Aldo back against the cage and clinches.

Pearce is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Aldo pulls guard successfully.
Pearce is fighting to break Aldo's control of his arms but Aldo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Pearce would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Pearce must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Aldo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Aldo pushes a forearm under Pearce's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Pearce is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
