PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kim Boshesh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brock Lesnar told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Boshesh is fending him off so far but Lesnar persists. Nope, Boshesh circles away and we're back to standing.

Lesnar fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Boshesh to the ground. Lesnar is now in Boshesh's guard.
Boshesh wants to stand and escape but Lesnar is having none of it.
Lesnar with a flurry of punches that miss.
Boshesh looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lesnar is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boshesh not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Lesnar passes Boshesh's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Lesnar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Boshesh with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Lesnar is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Boshesh sees it coming and defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lesnar seems to be looking for submissions.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lesnar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Lesnar throws a strike but Boshesh rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Lesnar's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Boshesh cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Boshesh lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Boshesh cracks Lesnar with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kim Boshesh!
A very excited looking Kim Boshesh rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
