Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robbie McStar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lath Hoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoy has chosen Go Ninja-Vanilla Ice as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Robbie McStar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Lath Hoy! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McStar has his takedown stuffed and Hoy counters with a left and a right that stings McStar. McStar shoots in looking for a takedown but Hoy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McStar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hoy misses with a lunging right hand
and McStar counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hoy's guard now. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Hoy has his foot on McStar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McStar works his way back into a safe position though. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hoy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McStar defends it easily. Hoy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McStar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McStar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hoy is trying to keep McStar in close.
McStar lands a couple of decent looking shots. McStar throwing strikes from guard but Hoy blocks nicely. Hoy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. McStar scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

McStar with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Hoy controls McStar momentarily but McStar frees himself. McStar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hoy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McStar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McStar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. McStar missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hoy throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

McStar takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hoy actively working from the bottom here. The fighters are battling for position here. Hoy manages to regain full guard. Nice work. McStar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hoy working for a triangle but McStar defends it easily.

McStar trying to control the position from guard on top but Hoy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McStar avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoy is looking for a triangle but McStar pushes his legs off easily.
McStar postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! McStar trying to control the position from guard on top but Hoy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McStar lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hoy working for submissions but it's allowed McStar to get to half guard.

McStar looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Hoy is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McStar pulls his head out easily. McStar prevents Hoy from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McStar connects with a nice short shot to Hoy's temple. McStar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hoy keeps working. Hoy actively working from the bottom here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hoy is looking to improve his position.
McStar is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. McStar sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hoy defending well though. McStar lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! McStar takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Hoy is looking to control McStar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hoy avoid being mounted? Hoy looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Hoy is trying to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robbie McStar dominated that round. That's time! McStar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Hoy changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. McStar keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McStar has a takedown stuffed. Hoy blocks a jab. Hoy jabs McStar right on the nose. McStar blinks but takes it well. McStar fails with a takedown attempt. Hoy swings for the body but McStar moves out of range.
A momentary lapse in concentration from McStar enables Hoy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McStar manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Hoy stopping the sweep attempt from McStar. Hoy tries to free his leg and advance position but McStar is retaining full guard. McStar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hoy is one step ahead there. Hoy wants to control from the top but McStar keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McStar is keeping the position for now. McStar kicks Hoy off and gets to his feet. McStar misses with a takedown and Hoy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robbie McStar. That's going to take a lot out of him. McStar gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Hoy to counter with a crisp jab. McStar walks into a jab. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! McStar needs to keep his hands up - Hoy had a free shot at his head there. McStar avoids a punch combination nicely.
McStar closes the distance and clinches up with Hoy, looking for a takedown. McStar pushes Hoy against the cage but Hoy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hoy works McStar's body with a nice hook. McStar with a poor takedown and Hoy makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Hoy darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Hoy has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. McStar darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hoy on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Hoy is staying active underneath McStar, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hoy actively working from the bottom here. McStar winds up and cracks Hoy with a swinging punch to the side of the head. McStar trying to control the action but Hoy is working from the bottom. McStar slips a nice elbow through Hoy's hands, connecting with Hoy's forehead. Hoy is looking for a sweep. McStar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. McStar trying to control the action but Hoy is working from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McStar is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. McStar is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McStar is nestled in close to Hoy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. McStar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hoy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Hoy is trying to control but can't.
McStar lands with a punch from half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hoy looking for subs from the bottom but McStar mounts him! McStar looking to finish Hoy with some ground and pound. This is bad for Hoy! McStar postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Hoy in real trouble here! The ref calls for Hoy to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Robbie McStar! A relieved looking Robbie McStar thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
