The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calzada works Rodrigues's body with a nice hook.
Rodrigues tries to clinch there but Calzada circles away.
Rodrigues tries for a takedown but Calzada sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rodrigues tries to close the distance and clinch up but Calzada swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Calzada looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Perlito Calzada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Calzada slips a jab and a cross from Rodrigues.

Calzada tries to bum rush Rodrigues with a series of wild strikes but Rodrigues uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

It looks like Lucio Rodrigues has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rodrigues swings for the body but Calzada moves out of range.
Calzada throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rodrigues on the side of the head.
Calzada moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Calzada throws a right and a left that Rodrigues avoids nicely.
Calzada scores with a nice right hand.
Rodrigues shoots for a takedown but Calzada saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Rodrigues shoots in looking for a takedown but Calzada manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rodrigues's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucio Rodrigues. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rodrigues's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Calzada connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rodrigues scrambles back to his feet.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Rodrigues. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Calzada throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rodrigues.

The fighters circle, before Calzada throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Rodrigues's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Calzada lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
