Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronald Belford Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott has chosen Big Balls by AC/DC as his entrance music. Ronald Belford Scott has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vincent Valentine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ronald Belford Scott!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Valentine.
Scott misses with a right hand
and Valentine counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Valentine moves out of range as Scott strikes.

Scott shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Valentine napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Scott is looking to take a break and control but Valentine is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Valentine tries to buck Scott off but Scott is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scott is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Valentine knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Scott looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Valentine manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Valentine is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Valentine is working hard here to advance position.
Valentine pushes Scott off looking to stand but Scott dives back in and keeps control.

Scott is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Valentine defends it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Valentine is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Scott pulls his head out easily.

Scott is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Valentine can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Scott has hold of Valentine's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Valentine manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Valentine is in all sorts of trouble here.

Scott throws a lazy right hand but Valentine sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Valentine circles away from the clinch attempt.

Vincent Valentine is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nice defenses there by Valentine.

Scott forces Valentine back against the cage and clinches.
Valentine takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like Vincent Valentine has been cut.
Scott misses with some punches.
A nice right hand lands inside from Valentine.
Valentine jumps guard but Scott stands there with Valentine around his waist. Valentine gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Scott is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Scott's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Scott breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Valentine throws a hook but Scott avoids it easily.
Valentine has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Scott finds it's way round the side to connect with Valentine's head.
Scott closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Scott ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Scott throws a series of punches but Valentine avoids them all with ease.
Ronald Belford Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A big left from Scott misses.
Scott looks to score with a jab to the body but Valentine is just out of range.
Scott is looking to clinch but Valentine is avoiding it.
Valentine uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Scott.

Valentine avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Valentine shoots in looking for a takedown. Scott tries to sprawl out of it but Valentine keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Scott manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A lazy left from Scott finds it's target.
Scott fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Valentine looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Valentine lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Scott throws a looping overhand right but Valentine ducks down to avoid it.
Valentine takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Valentine avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Valentine really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Scott will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Scott tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Valentine was well out of range. Poor timing from Scott.

Valentine takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Scott throws a right and a left that Valentine avoids nicely.
Valentine lands with a hook. Scott tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Scott throws a hook to the side of Valentine's head but Valentine sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Valentine lands with a nice combination. Scott backs away looking to recover.

Scott lands a lovely overhand right.
Scott moves in looking to clinch but Valentine pushes him off.
Scott wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Valentine gets caught flat footed, as Scott shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Scott accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Valentine escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Scott gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Valentine wants to sweep but no luck.
Scott postures up in Valentine's guard and throws a big left but Valentine blocks it.

Valentine is looking for a triangle but Scott pushes his legs off easily.
Scott must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Ronald Belford Scott is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Valentine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Scott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well Scott has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
