Eichstaedt has chosen Gregorian Chants as his entrance music. Jeff Kelly has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robert Eichstaedt!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eichstaedt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kelly's guard.
Kelly working a defensive guard here.
Eichstaedt controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kelly looking for a sweep. Not yet Kelly, not yet.
Kelly is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Eichstaedt sitting in guard here, content to control.

Kelly wants to improve his position but instead Eichstaedt has moved into half guard.
Kelly is breathing heavily.
Eichstaedt stalling.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Eichstaedt is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kelly is looking to control Eichstaedt's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kelly avoid being mounted?

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kelly wants to improve his position but Eichstaedt is controlling well.

Eichstaedt keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Oooh a lovely combination from Eichstaedt sends Kelly down but not out. Eichstaedt dives into side control looking to finish.


It looks like Jeff Kelly has been cut.

Eichstaedt decides to stand back up. Eichstaedt steps back and let's Kelly get back to his feet.
Eichstaedt misses with a two punch combination.

Eichstaedt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kelly moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kelly shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Eichstaedt pinned against the cage. Eichstaedt gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Eichstaedt throws a sloppy head kick and Kelly moves out of range easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Eichstaedt throws a right and a left that Kelly avoids nicely.
Kelly has a takedown stuffed.
Eichstaedt misses with a two punch combination.
Jeff Kelly is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kelly closes the distance and clinches up with Eichstaedt, looking for a takedown. Kelly pushes Eichstaedt against the cage but Eichstaedt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeff Kelly. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Eichstaedt is pulling down on Kelly's head to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kelly tries to free his leg and advance position but Eichstaedt is retaining full guard.

Let's hope that Eichstaedt has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Eichstaedt keeping full guard, as Kelly tries to pass.
Kelly is pushing down on Eichstaedt's leg trying to pass to half guard. Eichstaedt is fighting to maintain full guard but Kelly has managed to sneak the leg through.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Kelly is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Eichstaedt keeping hold of Kelly's head, controlling as best he can.
Eichstaedt is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Eichstaedt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Jeff Kelly's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Eichstaedt chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Kelly tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Eichstaedt paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Eichstaedt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kelly looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kelly wants to control but Eichstaedt postures up.
Eichstaedt wants to control but Kelly is keeping him busy.
Kelly is trying to escape the position but Eichstaedt is controlling the position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Robert Eichstaedt just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Eichstaedt is looking to clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kelly shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Eichstaedt as he jumps to the side.

Eichstaedt misses with a wild combination.
Kelly has a takedown stuffed.

Eichstaedt moves into range and clinches up with Kelly.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Eichstaedt just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kelly's brow.
A nice right hand lands inside from Eichstaedt.
Kelly's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Kelly managing to block the knees to the body from Eichstaedt.
Eichstaedt tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Eichstaedt throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Kelly tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeff Kelly. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kelly successfully pulls guard.
Eichstaedt is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Kelly has Eichstaedt pulled in close to control his posture.
Eichstaedt trying to control but Kelly is working from the bottom.
Kelly is controlling Eichstaedt's posture.

Eichstaedt trying to control the position from guard on top but Kelly is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kelly looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kelly not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Eichstaedt won't allow Kelly to sweep him here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Eichstaedt gets to his feet. Kelly looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Eichstaedt doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kelly counters with a three punch combo that has Eichstaedt backing up. Eichstaedt nods at Kelly to acknowledge the strikes.

Kelly shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kelly showed some decent athleticism there.
Eichstaedt manages to get to full guard.
Jeff Kelly has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Eichstaedt wriggles free and stands up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Robert Eichstaedt comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Eichstaedt has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
