Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Daath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daath has chosen Laceration Penetration as his entrance music. Nate Daath has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Kyle Cannon's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kyle Cannon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nate Daath! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daath leaves Cannon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Cannon wants to clinch. Daath gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Cannon is struggling to control the position. Cannon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Daath pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cannon moves into the clinch successfully.
Cannon drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Cannon trying to control the position.
Daath stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cannon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daath lands a couple of digs. Cannon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Daath controls the pace. Cannon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Daath's guard. Daath throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Daath really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cannon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cannon showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Cannon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cannon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cannon pushes down on Daath's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cannon is thwarting Daath's attempts to control the position. Cannon is just content to waste time from the top position. Daath takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Cannon postures up.
Cannon throwing strikes from guard but Daath blocks nicely. Daath tries to land a sweep but no joy. Daath wants to stand and escape but Cannon is having none of it. Daath had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cannon defends it easily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cannon is in close to Daath's body, working some short punches and elbows. Daath is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cannon throws a big right hand that misses. Daath keeping moving, preventing Cannon from controlling successfully. Daath preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Cannon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cannon stops Daath from standing up. Cannon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Daath works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Cannon throwing strikes from guard but Daath blocks nicely. Cannon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Daath is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cannon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Cannon wants to pass the guard but Daath is keeping the position. Cannon scoring with some ground and pound. Cannon trying to control the position from guard on top but Daath is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cannon passes into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Daath is controlling Cannon's trapped leg to prevent Cannon from advancing to side control. Nice strikes from Cannon there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kyle Cannon dominated that round. That's time! Cannon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Cannon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Daath gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Daath jumps into guard, dragging Cannon to the mat.
Cannon is looking to work some ground and pound but Daath has wrist control. Daath is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cannon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Cannon passes Daath's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Daath actively working from the bottom here. Cannon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Daath's head. Ground and pound from Cannon.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cannon looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Cannon trying to control from Daath's half guard. Daath has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Daath trying to control the position.
Daath preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Cannon postures up in Daath's guard and throws a big left but Daath blocks it. Cannon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Daath controls Cannon momentarily but Cannon frees himself. Cannon drops back looking for a leg! Daath is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Daath manages to kick Cannon off! Cannon jumps back into Daath's guard. Cannon trying to control but Daath is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cannon scoring with punches to the head and body. Daath is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Daath is breathing heavily. Cannon works a leg free and moves into half guard. Daath is looking to escape. Cannon looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Cannon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Daath sees it coming and defends easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cannon missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Cannon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Cannon slips a nice elbow through Daath's hands, connecting with Daath's forehead. Cannon missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Cannon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Cannon stops Daath from getting back to his feet.
Cannon moves nicely into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cannon wants to control for a moment but Daath uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Daath wants to control but Cannon is keeping busy and won't allow it. Daath keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Cannon is thwarting Daath's attempts to control the position. Still in half guard, Cannon seems content to control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cannon seems to be looking for submissions.

Kyle Cannon dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Cannon scores with a body shot.
Cannon shoots for a takedown but Daath saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Daath pushes Cannon up against the cage in a clinch. Daath is trying to pull guard but Cannon turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Cannon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Daath avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Daath breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cannon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Daath tries to avoid it but Cannon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Daath to the ground. Daath escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Cannon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Daath circles away from the clinch attempt and Daath counters with a shoot takedown. Cannon fights it but they end up in guard. Cannon looking to control but Daath passes into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Daath seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cannon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cannon keeping moving, preventing Daath from controlling successfully. Daath looking to sit in guard and control but Cannon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Cannon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cannon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cannon postures up in Daath's guard and throws a big left but Daath blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Daath looking to control.
Daath looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Daath has his feet on Cannon's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Cannon forces Daath back against the cage and clinches. Daath looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Daath drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cannon pulls his leg out and moves away.
Daath shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daath tries to stand but Cannon is controlling from the bottom. Daath wants to control from the top but Cannon keeps moving. Daath stopping the sweep attempt from Cannon.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Nate Daath was stalling too much, according to the referee. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Daath is defended easily by Cannon.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Cannon. A momentary lapse in concentration from Daath enables Cannon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Daath manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Cannon keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Daath's head. Cannon slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Daath keeping moving, preventing Cannon from controlling successfully. Kyle Cannon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cannon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
And that's the end of the fight! Nate Daath comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Cannon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
