And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Philip Phillips!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips throws a body kick that misses.

Phillips shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Phillips showed some decent athleticism there.

Kissinger kicks Phillips off and gets back to his feet.
Phillips circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kissinger misses with a wild body shot.
Phillips throws a right hand that Kissinger ducks under and follows up with a left that Kissinger also avoids with ease.

Phillips avoids the body shot from Kissinger.
Phillips keeps the fight on the outside.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kissinger. Phillips does a little dance to reset his feet.
Phillips defending well as Kissinger loads up on a big left hand.
Phillips tries to bum rush Kissinger with a series of wild strikes but Kissinger uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Phillips jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kissinger is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kissinger and Phillips has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Phillips stalks Kissinger and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kissinger's face. Kissinger staggers backwards, shaken.

Phillips isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kissinger stacks Phillips on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kissinger!

Phillips is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kissinger has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Phillips has the hooks in. Kissinger is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Phillips doesn't have the hooks in and Kissinger manages to turn into his guard.
Phillips looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kissinger is one step ahead there.

Phillips working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kissinger doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kissinger manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Phillips lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kissinger!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Phillips drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Phillips as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Kissinger screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Phillips! Nice submission victory there!
