Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Walkirk!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walkirk misses the jab.
Shinoda tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Shinoda closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Shinoda looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Shinoda seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Walkirk does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Walkirk looks like he's trying to stand up.
Shinoda is looking to take a break and control but Walkirk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mike Shinoda wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Walkirk misses with a wild combination.
Shinoda uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Walkirk.

Shinoda wants to clinch.
Walkirk throws a series of punches but Shinoda avoids them all with ease.

Shinoda drives through with a takedown into Walkirk's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Shinoda postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Mike Shinoda has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Walkirk throws a right hand that Shinoda ducks under and follows up with a left that Shinoda also avoids with ease.
Walkirk looks to land a combination but Shinoda avoids it well.
Walkirk tries to bum rush Shinoda with a series of wild strikes but Shinoda uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Walkirk moves out of range as Shinoda throws a body kick.
Walkirk misses with a body kick.
Walkirk will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Walkirk fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Shinoda on the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Walkirk rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shinoda moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Walkirk gets caught flat footed, as Shinoda shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Walkirk is looking to stand back up but Shinoda counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Walkirk.
Shinoda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walkirk keeps working.
Shinoda prevents Walkirk from standing back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Walkirk can do anything to dispel that myth.
Walkirk keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Shinoda controlling the action here.
Walkirk is refusing to be controlled, as Shinoda sits in half guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Mike Shinoda wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Nice cross by Walkirk.
Some wild striking there from Walkirk.
Mark Walkirk is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Walkirk misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shinoda throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Walkirk lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Shinoda backs up against the cage.


Shinoda is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shinoda looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Oh Shinoda is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Walkirk punishes Shinoda's body with a nice straight punch.
Shinoda is breathing heavily.
Shinoda glances at the clock... BAM! Walkirk nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Shinoda crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Shinoda is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mark Walkirk!
