6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Al Jourgensen! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jourgensen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Burnett sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Nice takedown defense from Burnett. No joy for Jourgensen on that attempt. Al Jourgensen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Burnett misses with a wild body shot. Jourgensen fails with a takedown attempt. Robert Burnett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Al Jourgensen. Jourgensen tries a head kick but it misses.

Jourgensen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jourgensen shoots in for a double leg but Burnett sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Burnett lands a nice hook to Jourgensen's body. Jourgensen takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Burnett looks to score with a jab to the body but Jourgensen is just out of range. Burnett lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Jourgensen closes the distance and clinches up with Burnett, looking for a takedown. Jourgensen pushes Burnett against the cage but Burnett circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Burnett connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jourgensen's hands. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Burnett ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jourgensen moves away. Burnett displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Burnett fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jourgensen on the side of the head. Burnett lands with a nice combination. Jourgensen backs away looking to recover.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burnett works the jab nicely. The crowd cheers as Burnett lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jourgensen doesn't seem phased though. Jourgensen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jourgensen showed some decent athleticism there. Burnett is trying to get back to full guard. Burnett on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Burnett tries to get out of the position. Jourgensen trying to control the action but Burnett is working from the bottom. Jourgensen is looking to advance position but Burnett won't allow it. Jourgensen is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burnett tries to roll over but Jourgensen keeps him under control. Jourgensen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Burnett has managed to free his arm - good work. Burnett knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jourgensen on the ground. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jourgensen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Burnett is trying to control but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jourgensen is trying to control the action in half guard but Burnett is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Burnett is looking to control Jourgensen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Burnett avoid being mounted?
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jourgensen tries for a takedown but Burnett circles away easily and Jourgensen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Burnett stuffs the takedown attempt from Jourgensen. Jourgensen gets slowly back to his feet. Burnett digs a good hook to Jourgensen's body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Burnett jabs at Jourgensen's body. Jourgensen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Burnett is fending him off so far but Jourgensen persists. Nope, Burnett circles away and we're back to standing. Jourgensen gets tackled into the cage by Burnett. Burnett maintains the clinch. Jourgensen is trying to force a seperation but Burnett has the dominant position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Burnett lands with a short head shot on the inside. Burnett prevents Jourgensen from breaking the clinch. Burnett pushes Jourgensen back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Burnett scores with a shot to the side of Jourgensen's head. Jourgensen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Burnett walks away with a smile on his face. Jourgensen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jourgensen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jourgensen looks gassed! Nice cross by Burnett. Jourgensen on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Burnett rushes Jourgensen and presses him up against the cage. Come on Burnett - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Burnett blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Burnett working some nice short punches in the clinch. A nice right hand lands inside from Burnett. A right handed body shot lands from Burnett.

A nice right hand lands inside from Burnett. Burnett digs a right hand underneath Jourgensen's ribcage. Jourgensen let out a lung full of air as it connected. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Burnett creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Burnett lands a body shot. This has been an exciting period of action! A nice right hand lands inside from Burnett. Burnett works on Jourgensen's body with a couple of short punches. Jourgensen's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Jourgensen is rocked! A right hook to the body lands for Burnett.
Jourgensen is still on wobbly legs! Can Burnett finish him? Burnett dips a shoulder and cracks Jourgensen with a mighty uppercut! Jourgensen falls back against the cage and Burnett unloads with a barrage of strikes! Jourgensen is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Burnett screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Robert Burnett!
