The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shire is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so St Laurent is just riding it out for now. Shire eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
St Laurent is refusing to be controlled, as Shire sits in half guard.
Shire wants to free his trapped foot but St Laurent is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Shire slips a nice elbow through St Laurent's hands, connecting with St Laurent's forehead.

Shire decides to return to a standing position.
St Laurent throws a right and a left that Shire avoids nicely.
Shire lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Shire moves in looking to clinch but St Laurent pushes him off.
Stafford Shire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A combination from St Laurent does no damage.
Shire throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Shire tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but St Laurent paws at him with a jab and circles away.
St Laurent takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

St Laurent falls off balance throwing a combination

and Shire counters with a double leg. St Laurent bangs his head on the mat and seems to be on queer street here... Shire follows up with punches and the ref steps in to end the fight! It was the slam that caused all the problems.
