Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rickson Gracie! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jimmy Stone! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stone throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily. Stone fails in his attempt to clinch. Stone cracks Gracie with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Gracie swats away the attempt to clinch by Stone. Stone takes the fight into the clinch. Stone lands with a light punch inside. Gracie blocks the elbow strike.
Stone makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Stone misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gracie.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Stone. Gracie's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Stone scores with a shot to the side of Gracie's head. Stone lands a left hand that snaps the head of Gracie backwards. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gracie is trying to pull guard but Stone has him pressed against the cage. A short right hand to the side of the head by Stone.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stone lands with a light punch inside. Stone pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Gracie fails to pull guard.

It looks like Rickson Gracie has been cut. Gracie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Stone walks away with a smile on his face. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rickson Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Stone - that will leave a mark!
Gracie tries to keep at a distance but Stone has taken the fight into the clinch. Stone throws a knee to the head but misses.
Gracie is trying to pull guard but Stone turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Stone's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. A nice left hand lands by Stone.

Gracie takes a shot to the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Stone just misses with a elbow thrown towards Gracie's brow. A quick uppercut on the inside from Stone. Stone lands with a short shot to the head. Good body shot from Stone.

Gracie jumps guard but Stone turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Gracie takes an elbow to the temple. Gracie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. That's four minutes gone in the round. Stone displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gracie throws out the jab. Stone moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off. Gracie walks forward, straight into a front kick from Stone. Gracie is breathing heavily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stone tries to clinch but Gracie is having none of it. Stone keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gracie. Stone fails with an attempt to clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Gracie avoids a wild elbow strike from Stone. Gracie being controlled against the cage. Stone is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Gracie is defending well for now. Stone lands a nice elbow. Gracie blocks an elbow strike. Gracie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Stone just stands there and leans against the cage. Stone looks to throw an elbow but misses. Gracie is trying to pull guard but Stone has him pressed against the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Stone. A short right from Stone. Stone using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gracie has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Stone lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Gracie manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
