The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black takes one to the side of the head.
Black doesn't manage to clinch there - Wood circles away.

Wood misses with a short punch on the inside.

It looks like Jon Wood has been cut.
Black connects with a nasty looking knee right to Wood's face.
Wood lands with a left to the head.
Wood avoids the elbow strike from Black, against the ropes.
Black misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Wood.

Black escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Wood has had enough of the clinch but Black keeps him there for the moment.

Wood is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Wood tightens his grip and picks Black up, before dumping him to the ground. Black manages to land in guard.

Black can't keep his opponent in guard - Wood advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wood thows a huge punch but Black dodges it nicely.

Black has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wood is working away from the top position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Black fails in his attempt to clinch.

Black is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Wood.
Black needs to keep his hands up - Wood had a free shot at his head there.
Wood keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Wood lands with a big left! Black is wobbled badly! Wood comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Black to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
