Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Grandmaster Red! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A leg kick checked by Red. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Red. Red attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Brown takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Brown misses the shot to the body. Brown throws a solid leg kick but Red takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Brown. Brown showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Red.
Red takes a shot right to the bread basket. A solid leg kick lands there for Brown.
Red misses the shot to the body. Red tries to score with a low kick but Brown moves his leg out of the way. Brown misses with a hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown on the wrong end of a nice hook. Brown throws a head kick that Red semi-blocks.
Brown throws a head kick that misses. Brown checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Red is looking to land body kicks. Red shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Red punishes Brown's body with a nice straight punch. Brown walks into a jab. Red throws a shot from downtown. Brown moves away and avoids it. Brown scores with a punch to the head. Red throws a jab but it's blocked by Brown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown cracks Red with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Brown is looking to slow Red down with leg kicks. Brown moves out of range of the strikes. Red tries a low kick but Brown avoids it. Red throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Brown sees it coming and avoids it easily. A low kick from Red is predictable there and Brown counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Brown slips under a jab. Brown blocks a head kick by Red.
Brown throws a sloppy head kick and Red moves out of range easily. A left lands for Red. Red misses with a two punch combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A slapping leg kick lands for Brown.
Brown fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Red looks gassed! Red wants to slow Brown down by chopping away at his legs. Red tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Brown is able to avoid easily. Brown checks the leg kick nicely there.
Red bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Brown's head backwards. A jab from Red misses. Brown slips a jab from Red. Nice defenses there by Brown. A jab from Red misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Red looks to score with a jab to the body but Brown is just out of range. Brown lands a jab to Red's midsection. Red missing with a left hand there. Brown was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Red misses with an uppercut
and Brown counters with a nice body kick. Red throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Brown throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brown lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Brown staying out of range there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brown thumps Red with a low kick. Red moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Red has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Brown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Brown dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Brown throws a head kick that half lands.
Brown throws out a loose jab but Red uses good head movement to avoid it. Red gets off balance looking for a body kick and Brown counters with a low kick, right behind Red 's knee. Joe Brown is winning the standup battle so far. Brown throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Red moves out of range as Brown throws a body kick.
Red misses with a low kick as Brown jumps back. Brown cracks the inside of Red's front leg. Red on the wrong end of a nice hook. Brown with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Red to score with a decent uppercut. Brown avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Red's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. The fighters circle, before Brown throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Red's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Brown lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
