PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Everett Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Imman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quinn is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. On his way into the cage it seems that Everett Quinn has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Everett Quinn seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kris Imman!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quinn moves into the clinch successfully.
Quinn is breathing heavily.
Imman wants to break the clinch but can't.
Quinn being controlled against the cage.
Quinn prevents the takedown attempt.
Imman trying to control the position but instead, Quinn has worked for underhooks and has pushed Imman into the cage.

Imman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Imman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Quinn defends it nicely.
Horrible takedown by Imman or perhaps it was just good defense by Quinn which made him look bad.
Everett Quinn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kris Imman.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Quinn wants to stand and escape but instead Imman has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Imman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Imman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Imman passes Quinn's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Imman is trying to control. Quinn wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Imman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Imman thows a huge punch but Quinn dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Imman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Quinn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Imman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Quinn defends it well.
Quinn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Imman.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Imman is looking to take a break and control but Quinn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Imman throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Imman misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Quinn holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Imman tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Quinn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Imman on the ground.
Imman postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Quinn looks a forlorn figure.
Imman throws some wild stikes that Quinn manages to avoid easily.

Imman trying to control but Quinn is having none of it.
Imman looking to ground and pound but Quinn is blocking nicely.

Imman sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Imman punching from mount but Quinn doing a good job of avoiding damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Quinn defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Imman.
Poor strikes thrown by Imman there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Quinn keeps the fight on the outside.
Imman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Imman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Quinn sprawls well. Quinn wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Imman gets slowly back to his feet.
That kick from Imman tenderised Quinn's leg. Quinn is trying to keep his angry face on.
Imman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Imman tries to clinch but Quinn moves out of range.
Imman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Quinn pinned against the cage. Quinn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Imman moves into the clinch successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Imman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Imman shoots in and drives through. Quinn sprawls well.

No joy there for Imman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Imman is trying to push Quinn away but Quinn has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Imman wants to get back to striking at distance but Quinn won't allow it.

Imman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Imman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Quinn clinches up with Imman and pushes him back against the cage.
Imman jumps guard but Quinn stands there with Imman around his waist. Imman gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kris Imman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Kris Imman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Imman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
