Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Slaughter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elliot Stabler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slaughter comes into the arena with Bulldozer - Goldishack Guerrillas blaring out of the sound system. Stabler has chosen Grown Men Don't Cry as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Slaughter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elliot Stabler! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slaughter shoots for a takedown but Stabler saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Stabler slaps away a takedown attempt from Slaughter, before circling back to the center of the mat. Slaughter fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Slaughter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Slaughter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stabler. Stabler throws a series of punches but Slaughter avoids them all with ease. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Stabler looks for a takedown but Slaughter sprawls well. Stabler throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Slaughter's waist but Slaughter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stabler off to one side. Slaughter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stabler sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Slaughter somewhat. Stabler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Slaughter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Stabler counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stabler is pressing down on Slaughter's thigh, looking to free his foot. Slaughter is holding on for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Slaughter makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Slaughter. Slaughter preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slaughter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stabler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Slaughter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stabler is one step ahead there. Stabler wants to control from the top but Slaughter keeps moving. Slaughter has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Stabler has passed into side control.
Slaughter wants to control but Stabler postures up. Slaughter is working to avoid the ground and pound but Stabler connects with a decent elbow. Stabler working the ground and pound from side control. Slaughter manages to work his way to half guard, despite Stabler's best efforts. Stabler working the head and body with strikes. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! This has been an exciting period of action! Stabler missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stabler prevents Slaughter from improving his position. Slaughter taking some punishment here, with Stabler in his half guard. Stabler prevents Slaughter from improving his position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Stabler lands a nice short elbow. Stabler is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Slaughter is looking to improve his position.
Stabler tries to pass to full mount but Slaughter defends it. Stabler missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Stabler is trying to work for a kimura but Slaughter is defending well.

Slaughter manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stabler tries to hold on but Slaughter pushes him away. Stabler is trying desperately to improve position. Slaughter lands with some strikes. Slaughter prevents Stabler from getting the reversal. Stabler is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Slaughter lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
It looks like Elliot Stabler has been cut. Stabler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Slaughter fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That has opened up Elliot Stabler's cut even more. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Slaughter is landing with some decent strikes but Stabler is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Stabler is rocked!
The cut above Elliot Stabler's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Elliot Stabler's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Josh Slaughter! Our winner, Josh Slaughter, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
