Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mijo Jagatic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Iurie Solomon! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jagatic gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Solomon counters with a takedown into side control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Solomon has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Jagatic slips a jab from Solomon. Solomon forces Jagatic back against the cage and clinches. Solomon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jagatic gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Solomon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Solomon. Jagatic has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Solomon after a bit of a struggle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mijo Jagatic. That's going to take a lot out of him. Solomon manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Iurie Solomon. Jagatic shoots in for a takedown but Solomon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Solomon throws a sloppy head kick and Jagatic moves out of range easily. Solomon moves into the clinch. Jagatic is fighting off a takedown attempt but Solomon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jagatic to the mat. Jagatic regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Solomon lands a couple of digs. Jagatic really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Solomon controlling from the top position. Jagatic utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Jagatic avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Solomon content to stall in guard here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Solomon stands up from Jagatic's guard - Solomon perhaps looking for a knockout. Jagatic is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jagatic avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jagatic shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jagatic tries to close the distance and clinch up but Solomon swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jagatic tries for a takedown but Solomon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Solomon pushes Jagatic up against the cage in a clinch. Solomon leaning his opponent against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Solomon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Solomon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jagatic on his heels. He'll look to pass Jagatic's guard now, I'm sure. Solomon content to stall in guard here. Solomon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Solomon gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Solomon throws a series of punches but Jagatic avoids them all with ease. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Iurie Solomon dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Some wild striking there from Jagatic.
Jagatic throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Jagatic checks a leg kick. Solomon drives through with a takedown into guard. Solomon throwing strikes but missing. Solomon stands up from Jagatic's guard - Solomon perhaps looking for a knockout. Solomon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jagatic on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jagatic wants to control but Solomon is keeping busy.
Solomon is nestled in close to Jagatic, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Solomon content to control rather than advance. Solomon wants to pass to mount but Jagatic is defending the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Solomon decides to stand up. Jagatic shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jagatic shoots for a double leg takedown but Solomon sprawls well. He's pushed Jagatic's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Solomon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Solomon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Solomon performing his best blanket impression for a moment. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Solomon has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Solomon lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Solomon unloading with bombs! Jagatic taking shots to the head. Solomon jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Jagatic is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Jagatic and Solomon has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Solomon in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Iurie Solomon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Solomon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jagatic tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Solomon is in Jagatic's guard. Solomon sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's one minute gone in the round. Solomon wants to stand but Jagatic has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Solomon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Solomon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jagatic, up you get! Solomon pushes Jagatic up against the cage in a clinch. Solomon breaks the clinch.
Solomon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jagatic was covering up waiting for the punch and Solomon finishes the takedown easily into guard. Jagatic wants to sweep here but Solomon controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Solomon showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Let's hope that Solomon has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Iurie Solomon hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Solomon rushes Jagatic and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Mijo Jagatic has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Solomon tries a body shot but Jagatic blocks it.
Solomon misses with a hook to the ribs.
Solomon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jagatic is looking to take this one to the mat. Solomon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Solomon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mijo Jagatic. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Solomon scores a takedown into full mount! Solomon postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jagatic looks a forlorn figure.

And that's the end of the fight! Iurie Solomon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Solomon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
