Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Martyn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandom Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martyn's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Live For The Moment. Vera has chosen Master Of Puppets as his entrance music. Brandom Vera told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandom Vera!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martyn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vera's guard.
Martyn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Vera preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Martyn advances position into side control!
Vera is trying to improve his position.
Martyn lands a nice forearm strike.

Martyn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vera is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Martyn goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Vera rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Martyn's guard! Nice work there by Vera!
Martyn has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Vera off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Vera tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Martyn counters with a takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Martyn works to advance to full mount. Vera defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Martyn! Vera is hurt baaadly! Martyn is firing away with more strikes - Vera is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
