Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrew Havener! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tod Evans! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Evans swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Evans gets a clinch. Havener is looking to break free of the clinch but Evans has double underhooks. Havener is trying to force a seperation but Evans has the dominant position. Evans is trying to force a seperation but Havener has the dominant position. Evans ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Evans no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Havener is fighting to break Evans's control of his arms but Evans is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Evans bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Havener's guard. Havener can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Evans controls the pace. Havener wants to stand but Evans is controlling the position. Evans showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Havener is working an open guard so Evans takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Evans slips a straight right by Havener. Evans is looking to clinch. Evans tries to clinch and Havener counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Havener blocks a head kick by Evans.
Evans dives in and scores a takedown into Havener's guard. Evans gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Evans shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Havener is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Evans works his foot free and advances to mount. Evans content just to control the position here. Havener knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Evans on the ground. Evans is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Havener is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Havener flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Evans anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Havener and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Evans slips an arm under Havener chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Evans has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Evans is squeezing on Havener like an anaconda would it's prey. Havener fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
