Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Demetri Barad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Norm Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barad comes to the cage accompanied by Paint it Black- Roliing Stones. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Barad is fending him off so far but Diaz persists. Nope, Barad circles away and we're back to standing. Diaz doesn't manage to clinch there - Barad circles away.
Diaz looks for a takedown but Barad sprawls well. Diaz attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Barad darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Diaz has hold of Barad's hands but Barad slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Barad drops an elbow to the side of Diaz's head. Diaz gets back to full guard.
Barad in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Diaz looking for a guillotine here but Barad defends easily.
Barad trying to control the position from guard on top but Diaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diaz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Diaz seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Barad wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Diaz looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Barad is trying to get back to full guard. Diaz wants to pass the guard but Barad is defending well. Barad is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Barad makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Barad. Diaz slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Diaz looks gassed! Barad is trying to get back to half guard. Barad is working hard here to advance position. Barad prevents Diaz from moving into mount. Barad tries to get back to half guard but can't. Barad misses with an elbow from the bottom. Barad is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Diaz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Barad counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Diaz! Demetri Barad has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Norm Diaz. Barad prevents Diaz from getting the reversal. Barad looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Diaz sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Barad knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground. Diaz gets back to full guard.
Barad really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Diaz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Diaz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barad can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Barad has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Diaz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Barad is controlling him. Diaz has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Barad doesn't defend quickly enough and Diaz has managed to lock this one up! Can Barad escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Diaz on a fantastic submission victory.
